Vol. 354 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Dublin Policing Arrangements.

396.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the number of burglaries and other acts of destruction in the Lower Mounttown Road of Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin; if he will ensure that there is an active Garda presence in this area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Limerick East): The precise arrangements for policing particular areas are a matter for the Garda authorities. They have informed me that the area in question is regularly patrolled by members on foot and by mobile units operating from the local Garda station at Kill-o-the Grange and from district headquarters at Dún Laoghaire. I am assured that the area will be given the maximum attention possible by the local gardaí commensurate with their resources and the needs of other areas in the district.

The Dún Laoghaire Garda district has been allocated a total of 22 extra gardaí since January 1983.
