Details of the new scheme for funding remedial works to certain "low cost" and older local authority dwellings which are suffering from serious structural deterioration were notified to local authorities by circular letter on 10 January 1985. The circular invited local authorities to submit applications for assistance under the scheme. Applications received in my Department which are found to be eligible for assistance will be dealt with on a priority basis related to the urgency and extent of the structural works required.
