Limerick East): After a disturbance in Mountjoy female prison on the evening of 21 March last the prisoner claimed to have been knocked unconscious by another prisoner or prisoners. Prison staff are not in a position to confirm that such an assault occurred. The medical officer saw the prisoner on the same evening but could not detect any injury. However, an appointment has been made for her to be seen by a specialist using specialised equipment in a hospital on 25 June next, the earliest appointment available.
