Architectural planning of an extension to this school was initiated at a meeting held in my Department in November 1983. During the course of this meeting the school manager and his consultants were requested to submit their preliminary design proposals. My Department have not received any design proposals to date in relation to this project.
The question of when work will commence cannot arise for consideration until the planning process has been completed.

A grant towards the cost of the new extension for the national school at Poulfur, County Wexford, was sanctioned by my Department on 11 December 1984, and the Commissioners of Public Works authorised to communicate with the school authorities in regard to the further necessary planning arrangements for the project.
It is not possible at this stage to say when construction work may commence.
