I approved of the acceptance by Cork (West) County Council of tenders for the civil works and mechanical plant contracts for the Rosscarbery sewerage scheme on 4 January 1985. I also approved a loan of £930,000 to finance the scheme on 22 January 1985. Arrangements for the construction of the scheme are entirely matters for settlement between the local authority and the contractors but I understand from the local authority that the formalities in relation to the signing of the contract are due to be completed and that work on the scheme will commence shortly.
