I understand from the South Eastern Health Board that a day centre is being developed on the welfare home site and that this is the first stage in the development of a welfare home which the board hopes to build in due course as and when resources become available. The day centre is being built in co-operation with the Carrick-on-Suir Social Services Council and planning permission has already been received from the urban district council. It is intended to put the project out to tender in the coming months.
