A new community school to cater for 750 pupils has been approved for Castlecomer and will replace the existing convent and vocational schools. Architectural planning of the project is proceeding, and the second stage of planning, i.e. outline sketch scheme, has been submitted by the design team and is at present under examination in my Department.
The remaining stages of planning will be expedited as far as possible with a view to having the school provided by the earliest possible date.
