The Cabinet minute books are released 30 years after the expiry of the term of office of the Government to which they relate. The latest such release took place in January 1985 in respect of the records of the 1951-54 Government. All Cabinet minutes relating to the period up to the latest release date have been transferred to the State Paper Office.
