Vol. 361 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin School Play Area.

149.

asked the Minister for Education the play area available to the children in the central model schools at Marlborough Street, Dublin 1; and if provision can be made for a proper play area for the school.

Due to adverse circumstances arising from the destruction of the premises by fire and the erection of prefabricated buildings to accommodate the pupils in the school grounds, I am aware that the play area attached to these schools has been less than adequate. The recent demolition of adjoining derelict buildings will allow for more playspace to be made available. When my plans for the rehousing of the schools in permanent buildings have been finalised the position in regard to playing area will be considerably improved as a consequence.
