asked the Minister for the Environment the date and amount of grants approved to Tooreen Tarra group water scheme, Ballindereen, Kilcolgan, County Galway; the date on which his Department were given notification of the stage completion of works which necessitated grant payments; the grant payments made and the dates on which they were made; if he is aware that the county council has tested and passed this scheme for quite some time; and when the remainder of the grants for the scheme will be paid.

State grants to the value of £19,000 were provisionally allocated to this group on 28 November 1984. Grant instalments of £5,300 and £1,650 were paid to the group on 31 January and 29 March 1985 respectively, based on the local inspector's certificates of expenditure incurred on the scheme. There will be a further inspection of the scheme shortly with a view to paying a third instalment of grants to the group. It is understood that Galway County Council recently tested the mains laid by this group.
