No such plans are before my Department at present. Sligo Corporation were informed on 14 January 1983 that the cost of amenity works associated with housing development at Abbeyquarter, Sligo, could not be accepted as a charge against local authority housing capital. The position has not changed since then.
Recent representations by the Deputy to the Department of Finance seeking grant aid in respect of recreational development in the Cleaveragh area of Sligo Borough were received in my Department on 8 November and a reply will be issued as soon as possible. No proposals relating to the development in question have been received in my Department from the corporation.
