Vol. 361 No. 9

Written Answers. - Santry (Dublin) Tree Felling.

49.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the action his Department propose to take with regard to the illegal felling of trees at Santry Demesne, County Dublin.

Complaints about illegal felling of trees at Santry Demesne have been investigated by officials of my Department and the Garda Síochána. The requirements of the Forestry Act, 1946, in relation to the felling of trees have been brought to the attention of the person responsible for the recent illegal felling of some trees in the demesne and he has been warned that any further felling without a licence will render him liable to prosecution. He has since applied for a felling licence and this is at present being examined by my Department.
