Moneylenders licences are issued in respect of the licensing year from 1 August to 31 July of the following year. I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the number of moneylenders licences issued during the licensing years 1983-84 and 1984-85 were 125 and 115, respectively. A total of 128 licences were issued in the calender year 1984 and 5 in the first six months of 1985.
