Vol. 361 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

56.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will pay a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from the person named.

57.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and the reason for the delay in payment.

The delay in dealing with this case is due to the fact that the applicant submitted an incomplete application last March. Following receipt of the necessary additional information the Department's inspector has been asked for a report with a view to the payment of the grant. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

58.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will pay the £5,000 grant for vacating a local authority house to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

59.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of a new house grant application from the person named. However, an application from a person with the same surname and address but a different Christian name was rejected in November 1984 because the floor area exceeded the maximum allowable for grant purposes. Arising from a recent inspection it has been confirmed that the floor area is still in excess of the maximum allowable.

60.

asked the Minister for the Environment where a Roinn na Gaeltachta grant applicant was turned down as a result of the condition requiring that Irish be spoken, if his Department will accept the report of the Roinn na Gaeltachta inspector to qualify for the environment grant.

The report referred to will be accepted if the Roinn na Gaeltachta inspector involved confirms that the relevant works had not commenced on the date of his inspection.
