My Department has received sketch plans, together with costings prepared by the chairman's architect, for the proposed extension to Williamstown national school, County Galway, and is at present in communication with the chairman of the school's board of management concerning the local contribution. The sketch plans will be acceptable subject to the incorporation of modifications recommended by the inspector. When these matters have been resolved, a grant will be sanctioned and further architectural planning can proceed.
Any delay in dealing with this matter was occasioned by the necessity to clarify the nature of the project which would proceed.
