Vol. 362 No. 13

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

40.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason payment of a new house grant was refused to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The grant was refused because the floor area of the house, including the area of the developed garage, is in excess of the statutory maximum allowable for grant purposes that is 125 sq. m. (1,346 sq. ft.).

41.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will pay a new house grant and a mortgage interest subsidy to persons (details supplied) in County Cork.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and complies with all the other conditions of the scheme. The file in this case is at present with my Department's inspector for a report. Payment of the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be made following payment of the grant and on receipt of the appropriate claim form duly completed and certified by the relevant lending agency.
