asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give details of replies to parliamentary questions which he has given since he became Minister for Agriculture, which sought to establish when lands in the possession of the Land Commission in County Galway would be divided; and if he will indicate the reasons divisions have not taken place in line with commitments made by him in those parliamentary replies.

As regards the first part of the question I would refer the Deputy to the Dáil Official Report of 23 June and 25 October 1983 and 15 February 1984. Of the 62 estates referred to therein, 43 have been fully and two partly disposed of and nine are in process of disposal. It has not been possible so far to dispose of the remaining eight because of pressure of other work.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the total amount of land in the hands of the Land Commission in County Galway; and in respect of each estate (a) the date of acquisition; (b) the acreage held; (c) its name and address; and (d) when it is expected the estate will be divided.
The details requested are set out in the following table. Every effort is being made to have these estates disposed of as soon as possible but I am not yet in a position to say when this can be done. The programme is likely to be affected by the recent transfer of a number of staff to the office of the Commissioner for Farm Tax.
