The number of farmers who participated in the five year EC scheme of premiums for non-marketing of milk was 2,046. Their premiums were based on 27.3 million gallons of milk delivered by them in the 12 months prior to application. The number who participated in the four year EC scheme of premiums for conversion of dairy herds was 782. Their premiums were based on 13.5 million gallons of milk delivered by them in the 12 months prior to application.
