Vol. 363 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Treatment for Children.

192.

asked the Minister for Health the policy of St. Laurence's Hospital, Brunswick Street, Dublin, regarding the treatment of children in the casualty department; and if it is normal practice to refuse treatment and refer onwards to Temple Street Hospital.

The policy of St. Laurence's Hospital is that children under 12 years of age are encouraged to attend the Children's Hospital, Temple Street. However, children would never be refused attention in St. Laurence's Hospital if the presenting condition demanded immediate attention.
