Vol. 363 No. 1

Written Answers. - Medical Card.

193.

asked the Minister for Health if he will arrange for a medical card to be issued to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 who is experiencing financial difficulty, pays a mortgage of £245 per month and whose young daughter suffers from asthma and needs regular medical attention.

Eligibility for a medical card is determined solely by the chief executive officer of a health board. Accordingly, in this instance, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Eastern Health Board, with a request that the board examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
