asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in County Roscommon in receipt of (a) a contributory old age pension and (b) a non-contributory old age pension in each of the years 1981 to 1985, inclusive; and the total cost in each year.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in County Roscommon in receipt of the blind pension in each of the years 1981 to 1985, inclusive; and the total cost in each year.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 291 and 295 together.

The information sought by the Deputy for the years 1981 to 1984 is not available. Statistics of the recipients on a county basis were not maintained during that time. However, a breakdown of the number of recipients is available for 1985. Details are as follows: Old age non-contributory and blind persons pensions, 4,292; Old age contributory pensions, 718.

Separate details of blind persons pensions are not available. Details of costs are not available as these are not maintained on a county basis.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in County Roscommon who were in receipt of unemployment benefit in each of the years 1981 to 1985, inclusive, and the total amount paid in each year.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in County Roscommon who were in receipt of unemployment assistance in each of the years 1981 to 1985, inclusive, and the total amount paid in each year.
