Following investigation of the unemployment assistance claim of the person concerned, she was assessed with means of £27.10 weekly, derived from the value of board and lodgings in her parents' home. She appealed against this decision and an appeals officer assessed her means at £18.10 weekly, from 27 September 1985.
She is accordingly, entitled from 27 September 1985 to unemployment assistance at the weekly rate of £13.65, being the maximum appropriate weekly rate of £31.75 less means of £18.10.
Arrangements have been made with her local employment office for payment of all arrears due this week and further weekly payments will continue to be made as they become due.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will receive unemployment assistance for the five-week period she was unemployed.
Entitlement to unemployment assistance is dependent on an applicant being the holder of a qualification certificate and to obtain a qualification certificate an applicant must satisfy certain conditions, including an assessment of means.
The person concerned applied for unemployment assistance on 26 August 1985 and the case was referred to a social welfare officer for investigation of means. Despite being notified of the social welfare officer's visit she failed to make herself available for interview. A message was left in her home requesting her to contact the social welfare officer so that arrangements could be made regarding interviewing her. A reply was not received by the social welfare officer.
The person concerned ceased to sign as unemployed at her local office on 30 September 1985. Her local office have recently been asked to write to her regarding her means. If she co-operates her means will be assessed and her entitlement to unemployment assistance will be determined accordingly.
