The proposal to extend Carrigboy national school, County Cork, and to improve the facilities there, has been accepted in principle by my Department. It was necessary in considering the urgency of the project to carry-out an examination of enrolment trends. Although enrolments have not been up to expectations my Department are satisfied that the project should proceed as soon as the finances available to my Department permit. The question of inviting tenders for the project is under consideration and the outcome will be conveyed as soon as possible to the school authorities.
