The publication of the report of the directors for each accounting year is a matter for the B & I company under section 11 of the British and Irish Steam Packet Company Limited (Acquisition) Act, 1965.
The company has informed me that because of matters relating to the corporate review (which preceded the proposals from the board for restructuring the company at present under consideration by the Government), it has not been possible for the directors to approve the annual accounts for the year ended 31 December 1984.
I have also been informed that the company is awaiting the Government's decision on the restructuring proposals before holding the annual general meeting for 1984. I have already expressed to the company my concern and that of the Minister for Finance at the delay in holding the annual general meeting of the company.
