asked the Minister for Education in view of the large number of children requiring specialised teaching, the proposals, if any, he has for the provision of teaching facilities for blind children in County Wexford.
Written Answers. - Teaching Facilities for Blind Children.
106.
My Department has at present no proposals on hand to provide teaching facilities for blind children in County Wexford. There are only five pupils from Wexford attending the two existing primary schools for the blind and visually impaired. On the basis of these numbers it would not be educationally or financially feasible to establish a permanent special facility. Any visually impaired pupils whom it is felt are in need of additional tuition or advice, should be referred to my Department for investigation by the visiting teacher service for the blind and visually impaired.
