Vol. 365 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ground Limestone.

275.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the difficulty in securing ground limestone in County Donegal; and if he will ensure that the regulations governing the importation of the limestone from Northern Ireland are less complicated.

There are two ground limestone quarries operating in County Donegal and it should not be difficult for farmers to get supplies. Ground limestone from Northern Ireland can be sold here but has of course to meet the quality standards laid down. Official checks are carried out to ensure that the quality standards are observed.
