No. As indicated in the national plan, Building on Reality, 1985-1987, the future development of the fishing industry is currently being examined in the context of the report of the Sectoral Development Committee on the sea-fishing and aquaculture industry. That report took account of the views of the Sectoral Consultative Committee on the fishing industry. A policy White Paper on the development of the fishing industry will be issued later this year.
The future of the Sectoral Consultative Committee on the fishing industry will be decided on by the Sectoral Development Committee in the light of the White Paper proposals.
