Vol. 365 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Donegal Water Supply Scheme.

97.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the duplication of the water main from Dore to Bunbeg Cross, County Donegal.

98.

asked the Minister for the Environment when it is proposed to approve contract documents for (1) the scheme to replace the old water main between Derrybeg Cross and Bunbeg Cross, County Donegal; and (2) the scheme to duplicate the existing water main between Meenaniller Cross and the entrance to the industrial estate, Derrybeg, County Donegal.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 97 and 98 together. Contract documents for the Rosses regional water supply scheme which propose the replacement of the old water main between Derrybeg Cross and Bunbeg Cross and the duplication of the existing water main between Meenaniller Cross and the entrance to the industrial estate, Derrybeg, are with my Department at present. However, the contract documents are incomplete and it will be necessary for Donegal County Council to supply additional technical information, already requested by my Department, before the proposal can be considered further.

Preliminary proposals to duplicate the water main between Dore and Bunbeg Cross are the subject of discussions between my Department's inspector and Donegal County Council's engineers.
