The conditions governing the scheme of allowances for persons attending training courses under my Department's middle-level technician programme provide inter alia that the lower rate of grant is payable to students who could reasonably be expected to travel daily between their home and the college and in the case of every student whose normal family residence is within 15 miles of the college. There is no provision for the award of a higher rate of allowance to a person who does not satisfy these conditions.
