A national up-take of 90 per cent has been achieved in the mass measles immunisation programme. This is an excellent result which has exceeded expectations. Measles immunisation is now routinely done as part of the Department's recommended programme of immunisation and vaccination.
The success of the mass campaign is due, in large part, to the effective cooperation between the general practitioners and the directors of community care and their teams. I wish to thank again all concerned.
