The following pay increases are being applied to teachers in national, secondary, vocational, community and comprehensive schools:

In addition, ex-gratia payments totalling no more than £35 million are to be paid as follows: July 1986, £15 million; June 1987, £10 million; January 1988, £5 million; January 1989, £5 million.
Revised scales of salary and allowances have been calculated on the basis set out above covering the period of the 25th Pay Round, that is, up to 30 June 1987. The revised scales for that period will be circulated in the Official Report.
