The Shankill-Bray by-pass scheme is the subject of a motorway scheme under the Local Government (Roads and Motorways) Act, 1974. In accordance with the provisions of that Act, a public local inquiry has been held into all aspects of the scheme. I expect to be in a position to reach a decision on the scheme in the near future.
In view of my quasi-judicial functions in relation to the motorway scheme, the Deputy will appreciate that it would not be appropriate for me to make any further comment on the project at this stage.
