The Carrickmacross relief road is included in the list of projects in the 1985 road plan which are scheduled for commencement after 1987. These projects were generally listed subject to cost benefit and other relevant studies to determine priorities.
The plan is currently being reviewed, taking account of these studies. Pending completion of this review, I am not in a position to say when funding will be provided for construction work on the scheme in question. I intend to publish a further plan early next year.
