Vol. 370 No. 14

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

103.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid headage payments; and if he is not eligable for payment, the reason.

The person named will be paid his suckler cow and calf premium grants shortly. He is also an applicant for cattle headage grants under the disadvantaged areas schemes for 1984 and 1986. He farms only rented land but has not yet satisfied my Department that he is in a position to honour the undertaking required by the scheme to continue farming in a disadvantaged area for five years. When he does, the question of paying him cattle headage grants will be considered.

104.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid a headage grant.

The person named will be paid his 1986 cattle headage and calf premium grants shortly.

A second inspection of his herd will take place shortly under the EC suckler cow premium scheme and if he is deemed eligible for payment under that scheme he will be paid his 1986 premium when the batch which includes his payment is processed.

105.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when payment for TB reactors and sheep premiums will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

Payment of TB reactor grants will be made shortly to the person named who has been paid his 1986 sheep headage grants already and will be paid his ewe premium advance when the batch which includes his payment is processed.

106.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

The person named was deemed ineligible for the 1986 cattle headage scheme as his off-farm income was in excess of £6,400.

An assessment will be made as soon as possible to see if his on-farm earnings equal or exceed his off-farm earnings to establish whether he qualifies under the 1986 EC suckler cow scheme as a full time farmer.

He will be paid his 1986 calf premium scheme grant when the batch which includes his payment is processed.
