Payment will be made when an inspection establishes that the work has been satisfactorily completed. An inspection will be arranged within the next few weeks.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from the person named at the address given.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant approval will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A maximum grant of £5,000 under the pre-1940 dwelling category has already been approved in this case. On receipt of evidence of planning permission for the proposed extension consideration will also be given to the approval of a grant for such works.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this house has been the family dwelling of this person for 90 years, that it is her permanent dwelling and that she was only residing with a member of her own family pending the completion of the reconstruction work as her own house was unfit because of severe dampness; and if payment of the grants will now be made to her.

Payment of the grant was deferred in this case pending confirmation of the applicant's occupancy of the particular dwelling. The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

A decision as to whether a £2,250 new house grant is payable must await the receipt of additional documentation recently requested from the applicant.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £2,000 new house grant and a £3,000 mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; the reason for the delay in processing these applications which were made prior to 31 December 1986; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There has been no undue delay. A new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid if following an inspection it is established that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. This inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £2,250 new house grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Louth; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the contracts were signed on 29 January 1987; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Payment of the £2,250 new house grant will be made in due course to the builder of the house in two equal instalments.

The question of payment does not arise at this stage as grant approval recently issued following receipt of evidence of planning permission from the applicant.

There has been no delay in this case. Evidence of planning permission for the proposed works has been requested from the applicant with a view to approval of grants.
