asked the Minister for the Environment if an increase in a house improvement grant has been approved for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

There is no record of an application for a home improvement grant from the person named. However, there is an application from a person with a slightly different name from the same address. In that case a grant of £4,181 has been approved.

420.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a new house grant will issue to persons (details supplied) in County Waterford.

A new house grant will be paid in this case if and when a final inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. A recent inspection established that further works remained to be carried out to the house.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the new house grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be approved for the full amount in view of the fact that a contract was entered into prior to the recent budget decision; and if so, the evidence necessary to validate the application.

Further information is being sought from the applicant in relation to the application.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Kildare is eligible for a house improvement grant; and if so, when it will be paid.

Grants totalling £7,726 have been approved. A final inspection will be carried out as soon as possible with a view to payment of the grants.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a house improvement grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in allocating a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth, in respect of an attic conversion; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There was no delay in this case. As an inspection had not been carried out on or before 27 March 1987 a grant cannot be allowed and the applicant was so informed.

asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of house improvement grant available to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The application was covered by the dispensation from the prior inspection requirement announced in February 1986 and notification issued to the applicant authorising him to proceed with the work in respect of which the application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme (other than the prior inspection requirement) applicable when he applied for the grant. The amount of grant will be determined following final inspection.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

The issue of grant approval will be further considered on receipt of certain information requested from the applicant. It follows that the question of payment does not arise at this stage.

This application was refused as, contrary to a condition of the scheme, work had commenced prior to the Department's inspector visiting the house.

Notification of completion of the work has not been received.

Payment of the grant will be further considered on receipt of certain information relating to the carrying out of the work which has been requested from the applicant.

Following the recent receipt of planning permission which had been requested from the applicant in October 1986 grant approval has been issued. The question of payment does not arise at this stage.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named at the address given.

As an inspection did not take place on or before 27 March 1987, a grant cannot be allowed.

Notification of completion of work has not been received.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wexford has been requested on five occasions to submit documents and details relating to a house improvement grant; the reason the information was not registered after the first correspondence; and when the grant will be paid.

Notwithstanding the issue to the applicant of a request for certain information on 21 February 1987 and the issue of subsequent reminders all of the necessary details were not received until 13 April 1987. The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if arrangements will be made for an inspection to take place regarding a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The application was among those covered by the dispensation from prior inspection announced in February 1986. Notification issued to the applicant authorising him to proceed with the work in respect of which his application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme (other than the prior inspection requirement) applicable when he applied for the grant. As requested, an inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

On receipt of notification of completion of outstanding works, a final inspection will be carried out.

Both a £2,000 new house grant and £3,000 mortgage subsidy have been approved in this case. On notification that the house has been completed and occupied by the applicants an inspection will be arranged to establish that all the conditions of the grants scheme have been fulfilled.
