Vol. 372 No. 1

Written Answers. - Catholic Boy Scouts (Limerick) Grant Application.

636.

asked the Minister for Education if the application of St. Mary's Unit of the Catholic Boy Scouts, County Limerick, for a grant under the capital grants scheme for the construction of recreational facilities will be sanctioned; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

637.

asked the Minister for Education if the application of King's Island youth and community centre, County Limerick for a grant under the capital grant scheme for the construction of recreational facilities will be sanctioned; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 636 and 637 together. In view of the limitations on the funds available for the operation of the capital grant scheme this year and the need to accord priority to existing commitments, it is not possible to sanction grants in respect of any further projects. My Department has already formally notified applicant bodies, including St. Mary's Unit, 2nd Catholic Boy Scouts and King's Island youth and community council, of the position.
