Vol. 372 No. 1

Written Answers. - Policing Arrangements.

101.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will give adequate protection to a firm (details supplied) in Dublin 1 as it is becoming difficult for them to carry out their normal business as both customers and suppliers calling on the premises are attacked, cars are damaged and items are stolen from them.

The precise arrangements for the policing of any particular area is an operational matter for determination by the Garda authorities. I am informed by the Garda authorities that they are aware of the problem referred to in the question. They have also informed me that special attention by way of foot and mobile patrols is given and will continue to be given to the area in which the premises is located. In addition, the area is regularly patrolled by members of other specialist garda units.
