Vol. 372 No. 7

Written Answers. - Disabled Persons Maintenance Allowance.

241.

asked the Minister for Health the outcome of a disabled persons maintenance allowance application made by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath.

The amount of disabled persons maintenance allowance payable in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned, having regard to all the relevant circumstances in that case.

I have had inquiries made from the Midland Health Board in this case and I have been informed that, when account is taken of the means of the person concerned, he is not entitled to the allowance.

If the applicant is not satisfied with the assessment of means which has been made by the health board he may write to the Programme Manager, Community Care, Midland Health Board, Arden Road, Tullamore and the matter will be reviewed.
