asked the Minister for the Environment if the application of persons (details supplied) in County Cork for a new house grant has been approved; and if so when payment will be made.

A decision in this case must await the receipt of the additional documentation requested from the applicant.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether the application of a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a house improvement grant has been approved; and if so when payment will be made.

This case was covered by the dispensation from prior inspection announced in February 1986, and notification issued to the applicant authorising him to proceed with the work in respect of which his application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme, other than the prior inspection requirement, applicable when he applied for the grant. Arrangements have now been made for the carrying out of a final inspection.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 has not been granted an £800 house improvement grant in respect of replacing external doors and windows.

A grant may not exceed two-thirds of the approved cost (i.e. the cost as estimated by the Department's inspector using standard costings) subject to the specified maximum. On the basis a grant of £665 was approved in this case.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 has not been paid a house improvement grant in respect of a bathroom.

A grant of £2,000 in respect of a bedroom extension has been paid. A bathroom grant cannot be allowed as there is an existing bathroom in the house.

asked the Minister for the Environment the exact date on which a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will re-examine the application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 for a mortgage subsidy as based on the certificate issued by the applicant's solicitor to the effect that a binding contract existed by an exchange of correspondence of 4 July 1986 and 22 August 1986, the applicant did in fact comply with the regulations of having a contract by 30 September 1986; having regard to the fact that as the solicitor certifies this correspondence constituted a legally binding contract, if the mortgage subsidy will now be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A final decision in this case must await the receipt of additional documentation requested from the applicant.
