asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed extension to Fintra national school, Killybegs, County Donegal; if she will outline details of the extra accommodation being provided; the present stage of planning; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The extra accommodation approved in principle to be grant aided in connection with the extension of Fintra national school, County Donegal, comprises two classrooms, a general purposes area and certain ancillary areas. Plans have been approved on that basis and preparation of the working drawings is in hands.

A review of enrolments at the school is currently being undertaken with a view to determining whether the recent decline in the number of pupils attending the school may warrant a revision of scheme. The outcome of this review will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.
