While the vocational education Acts lay down certain duties for VEC's in relation to the provision of continuation and technical education, the Acts do not require that particular groups such as travellers or prisoners be specifically catered for.
Information available to my Department indicates that there are 28 VEC's involved in educating travellers in training centres and eight VEC's involved in providing education services to prisons.
Because of the method of financing the activities of vocational education committes data are not available to my Department on the cost of these services to each VEC.
