The levels of representation provided for parents on the management boards of schools are generally as follows:
Primary Schools |
Two parents representatives on a board totalling six or eight members, depending generally on the size of the school. |
Secondary Schools |
These are privately owned and managed and there is no official requirement to have management boards. Where boards have been set up they usually have two parents representatives. |
Community Schools and Community Colleges |
Two parents representatives. |
Comprehensive Schools |
There is no provision for parents representatives. |
Vocational Schools |
Two parents representatives. |
