Vol. 373 No. 4

Written Answers. - Proposed Dublin Health Centre.

36.

asked the Minister for Health the action, if any, he proposes to take to ensure that the local health facility which was promised by his Department to be provided in the former industrial site occupied by Rucon Limited in Town-send Street, Dublin 2; if he will give an indication of the level of services which he proposes to provide in the community health centre; the number of personnel that would be employed and the date of its commencement; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provision of this site is being undertaken by the Eastern Health Board and I understand that its purchase is about to be finalised by the board. The proposed health centre, to be provided by means of a scheme of adaptations to one of the existing buildings, will provide community nursing, community welfare, child development, social work, immunisation and health education services. The numbers employed in the centre will vary from day to day as some services will only be provided on a weekly or monthly basis. It is not possible at this stage to say when the health centre will be ready to commence services.
