The tabular statement below sets out average wholesale and retail prices, based on the maximum permitted prices allowed under price control in the period to 1986 and recommended prices in 1986 and 1987. It is understood that home heating oil was generally available to the consumer at what is described as the wholesale price. The details shown do not take account of any discounts which may have been available and in respect of which my Department does not have information.
