Vol. 374 No. 7

Written Answers. - Health Education.

225.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the health education officer for the Kilbarrack health centre, Dublin 13 is being withdrawn; the plans, if any, he has for the continuation of proper health education in the Dublin north east area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The health education co-ordinator referred to was a registered public health nurse who had been assigned health education duties. Some months ago the health board decided, on the basis of the personnel resources available and the service requirements in the area, to reassign her to public health nursing duties.

Specific decisions in relation to the allocation of personnel are a matter for the health board who must decide on the basis of the personnel and resources available and the priorities which they accord to specific services.
