Vol. 374 No. 11

Written Answers. - Revenue Commissioners Staffing.

50.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Revenue Commissioners are experiencing difficulty in retaining skilled staff especially in the computer sections; if there is substance in such reports; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The office of the Revenue Commissioners is affected, in common with other Government Departments, by Government policy on reducing numbers in the public service.

The commissioners are experiencing particular difficulties in specialist areas such as their computer section where there is a continuing drain of trained staff to the private sector. The office of the Revenue Commissioners is given priority when staff become available for redeployment from other Departments.
