asked the Minister for the Environment in respect of each county council, the position regarding the auditing of their 1985 accounts and whether the local government auditor has experienced any unusual difficulty in relation to any of these audits; and, if so, the details of same.

The position with regard to the audit of the 1985 accounts of each county council is set out in the table below. In the case of Sligo County Council, the audit of the 1985 accounts was deferred in May 1986 because they had no been prepared. The accounts have since been prepared.
