Because of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for the national schools building programme, I will not be in a position during the coming financial year to provide funds for the planned extension to Williamstown national school, County Galway. I am, however, arranging for the Primary Buildings Branch of my Department to look into the question of whether any improvements could be carried out within the current constraints on capital spending whereby conditions at the school could be alleviated pending the provision of the proposed extension.
