The detailed allocation of manpower to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities in the light of their assessment of needs and having regard to overall resources and demands on Garda services. A new station is being built at present to replace the old station in Lucan and I am informed by the Garda authorites that it is not envisaged at this stage that the opening of the new station will, in itself, call for any change in the Garda strength at the centre.
